We present an interesting article:

Chitosan nanoparticles synthesis caught in action using microdroplet reactions

Kamat, V. et al. Chitosan nanoparticles synthesis caught in action using microdroplet reactions. Sci. Rep. 6, 22260; doi: 10.1038/srep22260 (2016).

Kamat V. et al. from Agharkar Research Institute in India published in Scientific Report – Nature the results of the synthesis of chitosan-nanoparticles depending on different reaction conditions. The system was adjustable using different concentrations and temperatures. It was shown that the time to build the core is induced in the first 1 to 5 seconds. After this time the nanoparticles growth. Through playing with concentrations, temperatures and time the size and distribution of the particles can be adjusted.
