Enhancement of antimicrobial activity of chlorhexidine by liposomes with chitosan

Chronic wounds affect 1-2% of the population. In the presented study, chitosan-coated and chitosan-containing liposomes were prepared to enhance the antibacterial effect of the drug chlorhexixdine. A chitosan-based delivery system enhances the antimicrobial activity of chlorhexidine.

Publications in March 2017 - antimicrobial activity of chitosan

In March 2017, 215 articles were released about chitosan and chitosan derivatives. The top three nations in chitosan research are China (59), India (32) and USA (27). Main focuses were nanoparticels, evaluation studies and pharmaceutical preparations.

Publications in November & December 2014

At the end of the year 2014 numerous articles about chitosan and chitosan derivatives were published.  All in all 312 reports were released in November and December by leading scientists from China (89 articles), USA (35) India (28) and South Korea (21).

Publications February 2012

Overall 66 articles about chitosan and its derivatives were published in February 2012. With overall 15 articles, this month again China is the country with most publications.

Publications in December 2011

Overall, 122 articles about chitosan were published worldwide in December 2011. China was the top publisher of the month again.
