Euchis 2011 in St. Petersburg

200 years ago the biopolymer chitin was discovered. A perfect occasion to celebrate. Therefore from May 20-24, 2010 both, the Russian and the European Chitin Society, are inviting to come to the Russian metropole on the Neva river.

The preparations for the 10th International Conference of the European Chitin Society are running. Prof. Varlamov, chairmen of the EUCHIS ’11 and Prof.

Sevda Senel, president of the European Chitin Society invite all interested persons to participate:

Dear Colleagues, it is a great honor and pleasure for us to invite you to participate in the 10th International Conference of the European Chitin Society (EUCHIS’11), which will be held  in Saint-Petersburg, Russia between 20-24 May, 2011. This year is the significant date – 200th anniversary of the discovery of Chitin. Besides the scientific program, we offer you to open a symbolic door for the acquaintance with the City of St. Petersburg - a modern European capital and a global tourist centre with rich historical traditions, to visit our Museums, Parks and Palaces, Churches, Theatres and Concert Halls. We hope that your stay in our city on the embankments of the Neva River will leave you the most pleasant memories.

The following topics will be presented in talks and posters:

• Production of Chitin, Chitosan and its derivatives;
• Chitin & Chitosan: characterization and analysis;
• Nanochitosan – current status and future prospects;
• Biomedical, pharmaceutical, agricultural and other applications;
• Chitin & Chitosan: biotechnological and enzymatic aspects

Abstracts can be submitted until February 20, 2011.

Another important deadline is February 25, 2011 for:

• Visa-Application: Invitation to the conference
• Registration for the participation (lower fees)
• Hotel reservation through EUCHIS’11 secretariat
