German Biotechnology Days

On May 25 and 26 2011 the German Biotechnology Days took place in the Munich Hilton Hotel. Heppe Medical Chitosan GmbH (HMC+) participated as an exhibitor.
Almost 700 representatives from industry, research, politics, public institutions and financing specialists followed the invitation of the industry association BIO Germany and the task force of German Bio-Regions to Munich.
Martin Zeil, the Bavarian Minister for Economic Affairs, said about biotechnology: “The financial support of the biotechnology sector is well invested money. Because, globally we have to answer pressing questions and biotechnology as a key technology can give new and future-guiding answers.“
With this in mind, in lectures and discussion groups new application possibilities in the fields of personalized medicine, plant breeding and nutrition were introduced and intersections between different industries were demonstrated. Furthermore, indications were provided on how to successfully find new investors and how to launch product improvements or innovations nationally and internationally. Regulatory affairs in pharmaceutical surroundings were also detailed discussed.
Caterina Kästner and Anika Münch held the HMC+ stand. We had interesting business contacts and had the chance to present our chitosan and chitosan derivatives product portfolio.
As all other exhibitors we seized the opportunity to exchange experiences and extend our business network.
Host Prof. Dr. Horst Domdey, manager of BioM and spokesman of the Bavarian Biotechnology cluster, confirmed the great success of the Bio technology days.
Next years Biotechnology days will be held in Frankfurt/Main on May 9 and 10.
