Heppe Medical Chitosan GmbH sponsors the Pangulin in the Zoo Leipzig

The only Chinese Pangulin of Europe is living since December 2007 in the Zoo Leipzig.

Keeping pangulins in catptivity is very challenging since they are real 'gourmets'. Tou Feng, inofficially called Schuppi by the staff of Heppe Medical Chitosan GmbH, originally lived in Taiwan. To help the pangulin feel good in Germany, he is supported by his sponsor Katja Richter not only financially but also culinary. Seven gram pure Chitin - a gift he gets freshly prepared - are on the every day menu of the pangulin.
