Heppe Medical Chitosan is known for a huge variety of chitosan specifications and high quality products. To further satisfy our customers, we offer standard kits to simplify the analyis of chitosans.
Molecular weight standard kit
The molecular weight standard kit contains 10 different chitosans with several molecular weights of 18 to 530 kDa (Mp). With a size exclusion chromatography (SEC) our standards can be used to generate a calibration curve with an RI detector.
By using the chitosan standard kit the deviation of results between high end light scattering detector and RI can be reduced to less than 30%. Currently used standards like PEO/PEG (mentioned in USP), Pullulan or PVP causes deviations of up to 300 % in comparison to the absolute mesurements with a multi angle light scattering detector.

At EUCHIS 2023, HMC is launching chitosan standards for the first time. ,,We are proud to finally offer a reliable standard for molecular weight analysis'', says Katja Richter, Managing Director of Heppe Medical Chitosan. This means that researchers and customers no longer need to compare chitosans with other substances such as pullulan or PEG/PEO for molecular weight analysis. Now reliable chitosans can be used. How to read our certificate of analysis?
A certificate of analysis (CoA) is a document that confirms that the product meets its product specifications and is issued for each batch of product by quality assurance. The certificate of analysis contains the specifications for the specified parameters and the actual results of analysis of the parameters for this product batch. The certificate of analysis is sent together with the product to our customers. In the following we explain in detail how to read a certificate of analysis of our chitosan products and how can you cite it in your scientific articles.
